London, Baby!

Mother's birthday is coming and her humble self succumbed to her diva self's need for glamour. She and I will be going to UK's lovely capital city for the first time since 2001. How marvelous!

Was that British enough? Anyway, we're leaving tomorrow and we'll be back on Wednesday. I hope we'll have a great time and killing each other is not what I mean.

Wild Celtic suggested some interesting ideas for what my next post should be about and a Lost-related post will surely come once the series is over. I don't have the time or energy for anyhting deeper than what I'm writing right now but I will try to write something interesting and original when I'm home again.

I have to say, I loved London the first time I was there and I'm curious to know if my opinion of it will change now that I'll experience it with my older eyes, ears, nose, mind etc.

Are there any movies you have associated with London for obvious or not so obvious reasons? Any suggestions on what I should not miss? Mother will have to agree, of course. And she probably WON'T. :p

I hope I'll come back alive and tell you all about how I stopped Ross from marrying Emily. Kisses!!

  1. Have a great weekend! I plan on going over to the UK myself this year. I was planning on Oct 31 in London for the American Football game, but I didn't buy tickets to the game, so I'd have to find a pub to watch it in. May do London again, but since I was just there in late '08 I may try something different this time.
Any movies I associate with England? Nottinghill is one. Being American, I can identify with Julia Roberts character...minus the fame and drama, of course. I adore all the parks and gardens over there.
Another would be Waiting for Godot & Rosencrantz & Guildenstern. The Dark Knight, Snatch, Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrells...

The usual... Again, have a wonderful time! Be sure to find a park somewhere in the city and have a rest. It's amazing watching all the people. And see The House of Parliment..I could stare at it for hours. It's gorgeous.

  2. Hope the volcanic ash freak show didn't delay you...

London films: Happy-Go-Lucky, Long Good Friday, Notting Hill...

  3. Burning Reels, welcome back, and yes, IT DID.

I have no idea what is going to happen. A fairy tale (kind of) gone bad...

Stupid volcano!!! I want to take Michael Bay's money in coins and use them to shut its big, stupid hole! (That is, the volcano's)
