I'm feeling much better after this!

To steal an idea from Nathaniel,

this post has a soundtrack

I know it hasn't been THAT long but I'm nostalgic, OK?

Look who's back in.. one more character!! Pictures of the Mildred Pierce set have been publicized and are available at:

Two things.

1) The make-up people did a great job! Did you see her legs?

2) Why do they put ugly things in the newspaper? They're scaring her!!

Though I hope she is not in "repressed and depressed" mode once more, I was really happy when I saw the pictures. Don't you just love the path of the movie-going experience?

a)the director is attached to the project

b)the star(s) of the movie is attached

c)first pictures

d)trailer

f)we watch it!!

Well, it's not always exactly like that but you get my point.

  1. I like the song. Good for a day when I'm feeling ... not as bouncy as I usually am. The violin piece especially. The slow part..where it stands out by itself.

Kate is a beautiful and talented woman.

  2. I read your piece. I hope it's just one of these bad days we all have to endure from time to time. But you should certainly feel good about writing that beautiful piece. It reminded me of Capote's Miriam. Have you read it?

And I'm really glad you join me in appreciating Kate. :)

  3. You're very kind. I'm glad to know you liked it. Miriam- I haven't read it, but I shall now.
I think it is just one of those days we all, for whatever reason, have to go through. Makes no sense on an evolutionary scale, but I digress.

Of course! Kate is a wonderful woman. I always enjoy her interviews where she inpires women to be proud of who they are, proud of themselves no matter what other people may say.

  4. Splendid music. What's your favorite Kate performance James?

  5. Oh, don't make me choose!

Can I go with the middle-brow Extras performance? I just think she was amazing. But I love almost everything she's done.

So glad tou liked the music! Though I can't really say I like Yanni in general, this piece alone makes me proud to be Greek.

  6. Been watching, mostly listening to Meryl Streep this afternoon. You should do a post on her! "Winner Takes It All" is gorgeous...and her singing "Amazing Grace" in Silkwood is divine. I'm not nearly as well versed in these things as you two are so I hand the baton to whomever would like to take it. (Postcards from the Edge...her singing in the end? She could've been a country star of legendary quality!)

  7. I wouldn't dare to do a post on Meryl! You can see so many intelligent articles about her online that there's no way mine wouldn't seem inadequate. Maybe some day...

  8. I don't want to see intelligent articles about Meryl from some onlince sources. I care to see what you and Burning Reels think about her. She's personal to lots of people for different reasons, on different levels.
I can just imagine Meryl looking at us right now, tossing her hair, laughing and sayin, "Be daring, darlings!" I know little about her expcet that I like her. A post shall be on it's way.
